Clinical Supervision — Addiction and Eating Disorder Specialists
Philippe Jacquet offers clinical supervision to therapists, counsellors and clinical teams working in addiction and eating disorder settings. Supervision is available individually or in small groups, at Harley Street W1 or by secure video, in English and French.
Who This Supervision Is For
Therapists and counsellors working with clients in addiction recovery or eating disorder treatment — whether in residential settings, community services or private practice. Clinical teams in addiction or psychiatric institutions requiring group supervision, case consultation or professional development. Therapists new to this work who need specialist guidance on the specific dynamics these conditions present. Experienced clinicians wanting rigorous, senior-level challenge to their formulations and clinical thinking.
What the Supervision Offers
Specialist clinical depth. Supervision grounded in 25 years of specialist practice — Hazelden Foundation trained, DProf researcher on male eating disorders, and clinical supervisor to PROMIS Recovery Centre and Cardinal Clinic. This is supervision from someone who has worked at the most demanding institutional level in this field.
Lived experience of recovery. Philippe Jacquet is in long-term recovery from both addiction and eating disorders. That experience is directly relevant: it changes what can be seen in a therapist’s account of a client, and what can be understood about the internal experience of people with these conditions.
Countertransference work. Addiction and eating disorder presentations evoke powerful responses in therapists — hopelessness, over-investment, frustration, collusion. Good supervision makes that material available as clinical data rather than leaving it to act out in the therapeutic relationship.
Formulation and clinical thinking. Regular examination of what the addiction or eating disorder is doing for the person — what it is managing, what it has replaced — keeps the work from drifting into behaviour management the person is not ready for.
Bilingual supervision. Conducted in English or French. For French-speaking therapists working across the UK, France, Belgium, Monaco or Switzerland, this availability at this level of specialist depth is rare.
Format
Individual supervision weekly or fortnightly. Group supervision for small teams (3–6 practitioners) monthly or at agreed intervals. Sessions 60–90 minutes. In person at Harley Street W1 or by secure video. An initial conversation to discuss the work and assess fit is the starting point — no obligation beyond that.
