Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy
Changing thoughts, attitudes, and behaviours is a very complex process. Psychotherapists have the option to use, in consultation with their clients, a variety of different therapeutic tools to assist in changing responses, thoughts, behaviours, and feelings. Hypnotherapy is one such option that is highly successful for a range of different issues in creating positive thoughts around past and current problematic behaviours, habits and beliefs.
What can hypnotherapy help
with?
There are numerous
conditions that hypnotherapy can help you with, including addiction, anxiety,
phobias, lack of confidence, and depression. Some of the most common reasons
that people come to us is for hypnotherapy to stop smoking, improve their
confidence, or address their fear of flying
With years of training and
professional experience, the hypnotherapists at Philippe Jacquet &
Associates are uniquely positioned to use hypnotherapy in treatments plans for
patients who are dealing with anxiety, fears and phobias, habit disorders, sleeping
problems, addictions, or a range of other issues. Some of these issues can
include changing interpersonal interactions, managing emotions, dealing with
conflict or stress, and grief recovery.
Overcoming Fear of Flying
Being nervous during
takeoff, landing, and periods of turbulence is common, even among frequent
fliers, but an outright fear of flying is less so nowadays as more people get
on planes than ever before. Many people who fear flying may try to mitigate
this by never getting on a plane, but they are denying themselves holidays that
could bring them a lot of joy or having to let others take business trips that
could advance their careers. No one should have to put up with this.
Hypnotherapy to Stop Smoking
in London and Colchester
As an intelligent person,
you know the health problems caused by smoking, but it is an addiction and that
addiction can supersede rational thought. Hypnotherapy to stop smoking can help
by going beyond the conscious mind to break the addiction cycle.
Hypnotherapy In
Psychotherapy
Whilst hypnotherapy can be a
stand-alone treatment is also very effective as part of an overall
comprehensive psychotherapy programme. In many cases, hypnotherapy is used to
address very specific desired changes, such as stopping smoking or addictive
behaviours, while talk therapy allows the client to gain insight and personal
understanding. This combination of therapeutic processes is a very good option
for many of our clients. Most negative behaviours, thoughts, or attitudes are
not related to just one issue or one cause, so different therapy techniques can
be used to address the issues and create sustained change.
This is perhaps one of the
most misunderstood types of therapy options, at least within the general
public. In essence, the process allows the trained hypnotherapist to work
directly with the subconscious; the part of the mind that holds the beliefs,
motivations and habits that we are trying to change through therapy. With the
subconscious mind open and free from the limitations of the conscious mind,
suggestions are internalised and become a part of a new way of thinking and
behaving.
Focussed On Clients
One of the most important
aspects of the hypnotherapy offered at Philippe Jacquet & Associates is our
client's understanding and comfort with this and all therapeutic methods. We
will discuss, in advance, what you can expect when you undergo a hypnotherapy
session and answer any questions or concerns you may have before we get
started.
To be clear, while this
technique uses hypnosis, you will not be under the control of any of our
therapists. You cannot be hypnotised if you don’t truly want to be and you
cannot be made to take any suggestions that you do not truly want to take. As
with all therapy, you are in control.
Our founder, Philippe
Jacquet, has used the analogy that the therapist might be the navigator, but
the patient is the driver and they cannot be made to go down a route that they
don’t want to take.
Clients who take part in
hypnotherapy sessions will be awake and aware of everything that is going on
around them at all times. The hypnotherapist will used recognised and approved
techniques to induce a state of mental relaxation that allows suggestions and
information to be introduced to the subconscious mind without being filtered by
the conscious mind. In other words, hypnotherapy addresses, in very specific
terms, the positive changes that you want to see in your life.
When you undergo
hypnotherapy, you will often notice that the changes you desire start to occur
within a very short period of time. This is a very positive change for our
clients and one that helps them with the motivation to continue to change and
grow in ways that they previously may have thought impossible.
